The Central Institute of Educational Technology (CIET) has launched the NCERT audio-books for students of class 1-12. The audiobooks are available on the official website of CIET for free. These audiobooks will be useful for students with special needs and also for those students who like listen to the stories instead of reading them.
What are Audio-books?
An audiobook is a recording of a book, which allows one to listen to the story. These are really useful for students who don’t like reading much and also for students with special needs. The best thing about audiobooks is that with the help of these students are able to retain the things learned for a longer time. Also, they can simultaneously engage in other works and listen to the audiobooks at the same time.
NCERT Audio-books
CIET has launched the NCERT audiobooks for classes 1-12. The students in these classes can access the audiobooks from the official website of CIET i.e. Ciet.nic.in. Students can also access the audiobooks from the e-pathshala mobile app.
Useful for Children with Special Needs
The MHRD on its official Twitter account announced the same and mentioned that the NCERT audiobooks would be very useful for DIVYANG/Children with Special Needs. It also stated that the audiobooks were more relevant in this time of COVID-19 crisis.
