Owing to the Covid-19 pandemic, there has been delay in the announcement of class 10th and 12th results of the CBSE and several other boards. As we all know that the exams have been canceled, due to this, the Central Board of Secondary Education has announced that it will release the examination results of Class X and XII for 2020 on DigiLocker app. It has asked the students to download the app so that they can get their marksheet digitally. For those students who don’t want to download the app there is a login facility on the web page of DigiLocker website. The app is integrated with Parinam Manjusha, an academic repository of the CBSE.
DigiLocker is a digital platform, which is linked to Aadhaar card and cellphone numbers and where you can store all your documents. This platform reduces the need to use physical documents as part of the Digital India drive. All the data through the app is stored in the cloud computing. DigiLocker is a flagship initiative of the Ministry of Electronics and IT under Digital India program.
The issuance of mark sheets in Digilocker app reflects on the growing shift towards digital technology and is a major change from the traditional paper-based marksheets. The Covid-19 pandemic has led to this change as schools have been closed due to lockdown and there has been major shift towards digital learning and online teaching. In the wake of this, the issuance of the marksheet on Digilocker is a major boon for the students as they will not have to travel to their respective colleges to get the marksheet and thereby will remain safe from Covid-19.
