In India cricket is considered not just a sport but a religion and Sachin Tendulkar is the God of this religion. Very few sportspersons in the world have gained such fame and popularity as Sachin. Family Background

He took birth in a Brahmin family on 24 April, 1973 in Dadar, Mumbai.  His father was a Marathi poet Ramesh Tendulkar and his mother’s name was Rajni who worked in the insurance industry.  He did his schooling from the Sharadashram Vidyamandir High School and attended the M.R.F. Pace Foundation to train himself as a fast bowler but then after the suggestion from famous Australian Dennis Lillee he decided to concentrate on batting, which later proved to be his strong point.

Personal Life of the Master Blaster

Sachin’s wife is Anjali, who hails from a wealthy Guajarati family and by profession is a paediatrician. Apart from this she is also engaged in many philanthropic activities. They have two children named Sara and Arjun Tendulkar. His son Arjun is a budding cricketer. He made his India U-19 debut in the Youth Tests in Sri Lanka in 2018.

His Life as a Cricketer

Sachin was introduced to the cricket by his elder brother, Ajit in 1984. Later on his career was shaped by Dronacharya award-winning Guru coach Ramakant Achrekar.

Sachin joined the Cricket Club of India at the age of 13 and on 11 December, 1988 scored 100 not out in a cricket match between Mumbai and Gujarat. This kick-started his cricketing journey and after this he played several national and international cricket matches.

He also earned the recognition for being highest run-scorer with 482 runs in the 2011 World Cup Victory. This was a very emotional moment for him and also for India. He is also the first batsman in history to cross the 34,000 run aggregate in all formats of Cricket.

End of His Cricket Career

Sachin announced his retirement from cricket on 16 November, 2013, and with it marked the end of his cricket career. His last One Day International match was played by him in 2013 and twenty 20 match in 2012.

Sachin is regarded as the world’s greatest batsman and has broken many records and also set new records, which at present nobody has been able to beat. He served as an inspiration to many people and continues to do even after his retirement. He has made a special place for him in people’s heart as the legendary cricketer.
